Documentary Plot Outline: "ALIVE: A TRUE STORY OF HOPE"
Dr. S.R. Burzynski served as Principal Investigator in President Nixon’s “War on Cancer” and supervised research at Baylor College of Medicine and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He made his original discovery of naturally occurring anticancer chemicals named Antineoplastons (ANP) which could possibly cure cancer.
He built his manufacturing plant and the clinic and continued to study ANP in clinical trials. From the perspective of over 40 years of clinical trials there is undisputed evidence that ANP can provide long-term survival of terminal brain tumors and a number of other cancers.
A group of 144 terminal brain tumor patients who were taking treatment with ANP in Phase 2 trials accomplished very long-term survival in excess of 5 years to over 36 years. The patients had an estimated survival of less than 6 months and included 41 diagnoses of brain tumors with 32 brainstem gliomas, 13 glioblastomas, 31 high- grade anaplastic tumors and 9 medulloblastomas. All of them were diagnosed by oncologists from well-known centers.
The additional 61 patients diagnosed with 28 different non-brain tumor cancers, including cancer of the breast, bladder, esophagus, kidneys, lungs, stomach and malignant lymphoma, survived from over 10 to over 32 years. The results were published extensively in numerous professional articles and in 300 U.S. and multinational patents.
The success of the treatment depends on the removal of mutated cancer-causing genes from the patient’s body.
The patients in this documentary provide examples of uniformly deadly terminal malignant brain tumors for which the standard curative treatment does not exist and who accomplished very long-term survival in excess of 23 to 30 years.
The patients were diagnosed by neuro-oncologists from prominent medical centers and received treatment with Antineoplastons in Phase 2 Clinical Trials strictly controlled by the FDA.
